Modes of Therapy

Face-to-Face

I practice from a purpose-built counselling space behind my home in Celbridge. I place an emphasis on creating a warm, safe environment where privacy and confidentiality is assured. Parking and toilet facilities are available.

Online therapy

While meeting face-to-face in a therapist’s office remains the preferred way of doing therapy for many people, online therapy has grown in popularity in recent years. There are many benefits to meeting a therapist remotely, via video conferencing platform: the convenience of doing therapy in the comfort and privacy of your own home; time saved travelling to and from the therapist’s office; not having to find parking and other logistical issues.

Online therapy is flexible to the needs of each individual. Some clients like to start out meeting face-to-face before switching to online therapy once the relationship is established; others prefer to do online therapy exclusively from the start; while a hybrid approach suits others, switching between face-to-face and online therapy.

The primary platform I use for online sessions is Google Meet. This is a secure, easy to use platform and there is no requirement to set up an account. A link to the meeting is sent to you via email in advance of the session.

Phone therapy

Online therapy does not suit everyone for various reasons (e.g. poor internet connection, difficulty using video conference apps etc). If attending in person or via video link is not possible, I also offer sessions over the phone. For these sessions, I call the phone number you have provided at the agreed session time.
